Singer Scott Weiland has blamed “big egos” on his acrimonious departure from Velvet Revolver.
Weiland left the band following their European tour earlier this year in order to rejoin his original group the Stone Temple Pilots and record a solo album.
At the time, Velvet Revolver said Weiland was sacked because he wasn't “100% committed” to either the band's music and fans.
Speaking to MTV about his departure, Weiland said: "Velvet Revolver fell apart because there were too many big egos in the band — and I'm including myself.
"It wasn't necessarily about bad egos, just big egos, and unfortunately, it just mistakenly kind of eroded."
Velvet Revolver are still yet to find a replacement singer.
