Red Cross workers are helping some Scottsdale residents find a place to stay Wednesday night after a fire damaged two apartments.
A fire broke out at the Scottsdale Springs near 77th Avenue and Osborn Road around noon. Firefighters evacuated nearby apartments and the extent of the damage is unknown.
One adult female was transported to a Valley hospital for smoke inhalation; she is expected to be OK.
One firefighter fell partially through the floor of a patio but was not injured, according to a fire department spokeswoman.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
